By teaching English, mathematics, and other subjects in Ghana, volunteers can play a crucial role in increasing employment opportunities for the local population.
Teaching volunteers will collaborate with local educators to enhance participatory teaching techniques, classroom management, assessments, and gender equality in the classroom.
Additionally, volunteers will contribute to the development of primary education initiatives focused on early childhood development, literacy, and health education. For those with expertise in special education, this placement offers a chance to utilize their skills and initiatives by creating customized lesson plans and activities. Engaging in this project will not only provide valuable hands-on experience but also offer an enjoyable and rewarding journey. The teaching placement is in kindergarten, lower grades and primary schools in Accra, the capital of Ghana.
Ghanaian students of all ages and backgrounds appreciate the opportunity to interact with fluent English speakers. You do not have to be a qualified or experienced teacher to join the project, and you are sure to receive a warm welcome from the local schools we work with who are eager to have our volunteers. Whether you want to volunteer abroad by teaching during your gap year, career break, or vacation you will have a role to play, and your efforts will make a lasting impact.
Volunteers who show interest in various school activities such as sports, drama, arts, and music are warmly welcomed by all of our placement schools.
